Four Howard Company Employees Celebrate 120 Combined Years of Service

BROOKFIELD, Wisc. (May 31, 2017) – In an age where the median number of years employees stay at their jobs is 4.2 years (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), The Howard Company, Inc. proudly discloses it has four employees who have each logged 30 years with the company. The Howard will be celebrating each employee’s tenure with an in-house luncheon and gift in recognition of their contributions to the success of the company.

Bill Hintz, Howard CFO, joined the Howard Company in 1987 filling the accounting manager position. Bill recalls hand entering all accounting data on ledger sheets when he started. Today’s accounting details are handled by advanced computer programs and Bill recently oversaw a company-wide implementation of a new ERP system. Along with keeping an eye on the books Bill fills in as the Human Resources director.

Linda Dempsey started in May 1987 as a temp in the assembly department. She recalls building signage for Dr. Pepper and Dairy Queen as part of their roll-outs back in the 1990’s. Linda spent many years as the supervisor for the assembly department and most recently stepped into the order processing roll.

David Olson began his employment in September 1987 as a part-time employee working evenings on a large Ford account roll-out. After two months he was hired on full-time and spent five years as a model-maker apprentice before becoming a certified model-maker. He recalls many years creating prototypes for Point of Purchase displays and building patterns for production houses. Today Dave supports Howard’s menu board needs and builds custom parts.

Joanne Rice joined the Howard in 1986 in the assembly department building the then-new Mainstreet modular lightboxes. Her days progressed into the strip making department, then into a long tenure supporting the graphic design team. Most recently she’s back in graphic production running the color printer. She says she’s enjoyed her years at The Howard Company and has learned much in her time there.

Doug Watson, company president and CEO, extends his appreciation to this special group for their 120 combined years of service to The Howard Company. “To have reached these individual milestones at one company is amazing, and we sincerely appreciate their willingness to adapt to changes as the company transitioned over the years.” He also stated several other employees have 20 plus years working at The Howard, another notable achievement.
